Ch. 36 of TTLBLAH is up

It's a bit short, I know, but I wanted it up before going on Christmas Holiday! Hope it's to your liking, though

Sneak Peak:
Chapter 36: Cheesy Comments and a Nasty Witch
He showed Elizabeth all his favourite spots in the garden, or park as she preferred to call it. He guessed she was right. It was too large to be called a garden. In fact, they had two gardeners that took care of it all.

"I wonder how Jane's doing," Elizabeth said as they sat down on the little dock on the beach, which was his favourite place of them all. He had been coming here since the dock had been built. To just get away for a moment or two and breathe in the salty air of the ocean.
"I'm sure she's just fine," William assured her. Even if Mr Bingley had been blind when it came to Caroline, he was sure both he and his wife would be hospitable enough to welcoming Jane into their home. He was sure Charles had told them just how wrong Caroline had been about Jane.

"I just hope Caroline hasn't been feeding them lies about my sister."

"Don't worry. Charlie has been there the whole time. In this case I really do hope that they listen to him, and not to her. I'm sure they think highly enough of their son not to think he'd stay with someone who had been cheating on him."

Chapter 35 of TTLBLAH is up

Yeah, so it took me a while, again. Sorry. Have started a new story, again, and you know how it is with new stories. They kind of demands your attention and you feel you have to write just to get to know what will happen. Even if you are the one writing it, the story has its own life. At least mine does. They never turn out exactly the way I have planned, really.

Sneak peak:
Chapter 35: A Home away from Home?
William felt proud as Elizabeth admired his childhood, well part of it anyway, home. His mother had decorated it with an eclectic mix of old and new. They would only be staying there for a couple of nights, then retrench to his apartment down town. There were only so much of his parents he could take. A couple of nights under their roof were sufficient enough to make him feel like five again. Altough it was nice to be pampered from time to time, it could be too much.

I Remember Love is completed

It nearly took me forever, but now it is done. I have left Tom and Jane for this time around, but will surely visit them again in the future.

Chapter 45: In which they Experience the Miracle of Life
Jane woke up with a delicious feeling of contentment early the next morning. She had not felt so completely calm and care free for a very long time. She thought she would have felt different. So much had change in the last 24 hours. She was no longer in danger of dying an old maid, but a married woman. The epithet 'maid' did most definitely not apply to her anymore. She felt herself colour as she thought back on the night.

No, I'm not Dead

I'm so so sorry for not updating my fics. Life has gotten in the way once again, and I have had a really tough time with the current chapter in The Thin Line. The main problem is to do the research really. I've never been to Boston or even to the States. Luckily I've been to England a couple of times, but since I'm mainly writing about a imaginary town it's easier than a real one. Thank God for Google I say! :P

I hope you guys bare with me though. I will finish the chapter soon. And my other fics, too. Am nearly done with I remember love, I'm just unwilling to let it go...

3 Sept 2010

I have updated TTLBLAH a couple of times...

But have forgotten to put them here... :P Well, chapter 33 is just updated on fanfiction.net. Hurry there to read! :)

Seak Peak:
Chapter 33: Because First Impressions Doesn't Always Last
Elizabeth was not looking forward to dinner with her parents that evening. She feared that all her sisters would be in place as well as her mother and father. Dinner in the Bennet household with everyone there was usually quite fun. But that was when she was not the object of attention. Having William there would help a little, but not enough. Besides, she was beginning to regret inviting him at all. She had wanted to shield him as long as possible from her family. Her father, she guessed, was pretty tolerable and so was Jane, but the rest? Not so much. She hadn't even told her mother she would be bringing a guest. She knew that was a little bit evil, but she didn't care. She wasn't worried that there wouldn't be enough food. Her mother always cooked for a full battalion. Elizabeth would so enjoy the look on her mother's face when she walked in with William on her arm.

I'm on vacation

Just a little note to let you know that I am alive, but on vacation. Normally that generates lots of writing, and it has, only in new directions and new stories that keeps on popping up in my head. I have so many ideas, but it's hard to put them down on paper. I have six or seven Persuasion stories on the go, I guess some of them will merge together for it to be worth publishing. I have started an Emma story too. Emma is so not my favourite, but for some reason she got stuck in my head after re-reading it.

I should really try to finish what I've started... Oh well, I probably will, eventually do that! ;)

Until next time, know that I love comments, I'd love to hear from my readers. Ideas and suggestions are most welcome.

Ch 30 of TTLBLAH is up!

Yes, I'm finally finished! I have lots of ideas, but trouble getting them down on paper as usual. Things will be moving on a bit faster from now on!

Sneak peak:

Chapter 30: William the Helpful
William had to admit that there would be meaningful glances from several eyes if they delayed their departure any longer. But he could not deny that he wanted to throw her down on the bed and ravish her. This was not really the time, or the place for such indulgences. After one look at her he weighed the pros and cons and chucked the cons out the window and closed the gap between them with one quick step and took her in his arms again, almost violently.

"William?" she protested softly between the kisses.

"Let's give them something to talk about," he murmured. "I really don't care about anyone but you." At this Elizabeth laughed softly and encircled his neck again.

"Now I have to change my clothes again," she whispered. "I'm getting wet…" She closed her mouth before she finished the sentence as she realised the double meaning in that statement. Her face grew red and William grinned.

"That is really too bad," he said. "Let me help you with that…"

Ch 29 of TTLBLAH is up!

I know, it took me some time. And I really don't have any good excuse. Haven't really had any inspiration to write on any of my stories. Perhaps my muse has gone on early vacaition. But let's hope she comes back soon... ;)

Anyway, here's a sneak peak!

Chapter 29: Accidentally on Purpose
They were too wrapped up in enjoying each other's company that they didn't notice the clouds that gathered on the horizon. It was not until the first raindrops found their way down through the lushness of the tree that they found themselves caught in the rain.

"My car!" Elizabeth jumped up and started running towards her car that still had the roof down. The interior was exposed to the relentless rain.

"Give me the keys, I'm faster than you," William said.

"I don't think so," Elizabeth objected.

"Wanna bet?" He grinned.

"This is my car, Will! Not some prize," Elizabeth protested, but gave up since William was already halfway to the car.

"The keys?" he called over his shoulder. She threw them to him and he caught them in one hand and continued running to save her car. She smiled and continued in a slower pace, despite the rain, toward her car. She was already as wet as she was going to be.

Ch 28 of TTLBLAH is up!

I had real trouble with this chapter, I have written and rewritten it a million times or so. And since I'm missing a beta, I really don't have anyone to listen to my whining and discussing how the story develops. Oh well, here's a sneak peak anyways...
Chapter 28: Plotting and Then Some

William grinned as he watched Elizabeth pull up in a silvery convertible.

"Nice," he said and nodded appreciatively at the sleek car before sliding down in the passenger seat.

"I know," she replied. He wanted to lean over for a kiss, but Elizabeth accelerated and soon they were flying down the road toward Netherfield.

"But mine's bigger," he said after a while.

"Really, Will? That's so lame," Elizabeth snorted and he felt himself blush.

"Yeah... " He didn't know what to say. He was so not his normal confident self when he was around her. He felt like he was 14 again, trying to impress his date. "But I do have a Bentley."

"Why am I not surprised?" Elizabeth said and threw him a side way glance.

Ch 27 of TTLBLAH is up!

This chapter didn't really turn out as I had planned. Though, they rarely do, this took another turn completely! Now the characters decided to do things their way, and not mine. ;)

Sneak peak:
Chapter 27: Interlude
Jane dragged herself into her apartment and slumped down on the sofa. She had just seen Elizabeth off on her sort of date with William. Jane had been able to convince her sister to bring food, to make it more of a date-date, than just fetching Jane's car and their stuff. She had also managed to guilt Elizabeth into tell her all about what had happened with William. Jane could see that Elizabeth, though not yet admitting to it, was very much in love with William. She could hardly believe that Peter's plan had actually worked.

Jane had tried to remain her happy normal self in front of her sister, but now that she was alone, the tears came. She couldn't help herself. Suddenly her world came crushing down around her and she could do nothing to stop it. Everything had been so great for the last couple of months. Perhaps it was all too good to be true, nobody was allowed to be as happy as she had been.

Ch 26 if TTLBLAH is up!

Yup, a good nonsensical chapter has made its way up to fanfiction.net. Enjoy!

Sneak peak:
Chapter 26: Childish Much?
Elizabeth was not the type to beg or cling, so she refused to try to persuade William to stay. Though she very much would like to be that type, she resolved to a slight pout when he got out of the bed. She couldn't deny that she was disappointed. And to tell the truth, she felt a bit rejected. It would have been the perfect end to the perfect evening.

Very slowly and deliberately she got out of bed, as for William to see just what he was missing. Elizabeth didn't even try to be modest now. Only putting on her skimpy underwear, she flaunted the length of her almost naked body, shamelessly. She stretched languidly to make William see exactly what he would be missing. And by the look on William's face, she succeeded. She rummaged around a little, looking for her robe, but as she failed to find it, she took out one of her, slightly oversized and much worn, Maiden tee-shirts.

Inspired

I'm having one of those days when everything is just great! I feel inspired, I feel alert, and I have tons of stories in my head. Most of all regarding Persuasion. I haven't written any about Persuasion yet. But now I have like three on the go. Interested? Well, I'm  not going to tell you more than two of them are set in modern day, and the third is regency.

Life is good!

Chapter 44 of I Remember Love is up!

Yes, you did see correctly! I've finally been able to finish the wedding, and the wedding night! I shall be so sad when this story is finally completed, so I'm giving it another chapter!

A sneak peak:
Part 44: In which they Share Sweet Kisses and Such

Jane Austen could not remember a more festive or joyous time. Everybody was so happy for them. She had never smiled so much, and her cheeks hurt. For all around people wanted to congratulate her and Tom. She hardly knew where to turn. And all the while Tom was by her side, never letting her go.

The luncheon was also splendid. Not a dull moment, but all Jane could think about was to be alone with Tom. She wanted to show him the work she had done to their apartment. She wanted to be in his embrace and to just relish on the fact that they now were bound together for ever. Nothing could change that now. No one could come between them ever again.

3 Apr 2010

Chapter 25 of TTLBLAH is up!

Yup, have been quite productive this Easter! Enjoy this healthy dose of Lizzie and Darcy!

Sneak peak:

Chapter 25: Blame it on the Hormones
The planned take out dinners turned into an improvised date at Elizabeth's. They had a picnic on her living room carpet. She had been so surprised and happy to see him that she invited him home. She wasn't very fond of eating alone, the more the merrier was usually her motto when it came to dining.

Elizabeth was soon getting all too aware of William's presence in her apartment, which suddenly felt very small. She was glad she had taken the time to shower and changed her skimpy shorts for a more modest dark grey skirt and a short sleeved blouse. But Elizabeth was still very self conscious of her clothing.

She watched him handle the chop sticks expertly. She just fumbled with hers and was soon forced to go fetch knife and fork, she just couldn't concentrate to hold the sticks right. He even offered to help her, but the closeness to him, his scent, his hand on hers just made her fumble even more.

"I'm a girl who likes to eat her food warm," she said as she chucked the sticks away and dug in with her fork. He smiled slightly at that, and her heart fluttered in response.

Chapter 24 of TTLBLAH is up!

Yes, I have finally finished chapter 24 of The Thin Line between Love and Hate! I really like where this is going, if I may say so myself.

Sneakpeak:
Chapter 24: The Importance of Obtaining a Phone Number
Elizabeth was happy to hear that her sister was to be released the next day. The doctor wanted to keep her over night for observation, but was pretty sure it was nothing more than an anxiety attack. Her parents and sister left, and Elizabeth was glad she was alone with her older sister.
"You really scared us," Elizabeth said as she sat down on Jane's bed.
"I'm sorry. Nothing like this has ever happened before," Jane said.
"I know. Caroline came down pretty hard on you, huh?"
"Yeah, and Charlie..." Jane looked away, trying to hide the sadness in her eyes. Elizabeth patted her on the shoulder.
"He knows he was wrong," Elizabeth said. "He's really, really sorry for what he said. He said to tell you that. And to say good bye." At that Jane sat up abruptly.
"Good bye?!"

A Mortal Ray of Sunshine

I have written a small drabble about Edward's thoughts in New Moon from when he left Bella until she saved him from exposing himself and his kind to the world. I have also published this at fanfic.net.

A Mortal Ray of Sunshine
A New Moon-story
By: jakeline

Disclaimer: I don't own anything. I wouldn't mind owning Edward though…

I knew I had been weak when I left her. I have regretted it so many times since. But I really saw no other way. I was a danger to her and her human life. If she was to die, I don't know how I would go on living. I have walked this earth for so long, but it was not until I met her that my life found its meaning.

It had been so easy to make her believe I didn't want her anymore. It's one of her biggest flaws, she thinks so little of herself. She has never truly accepted that I love her for who she is. The look of hurt and anxiety on her beautiful face broke my non-beating heart, and almost made me change my mind. She begged and begged, but I went away.

We removed ourselves from Forks. None of the Cullens's remained. Being a vampire means not ageing, and we cannot stay at the same place for long without rising suspicion. But I had Alice check in on Bella from time to time, with her special talent of being psychic. However, she was not the one who told me about her vision. It was Rosalie.

Rose has never really approved of Bella. Perhaps it is because of her envy of Bella's mortality or that Bella had found it so easy to fit in with us, even wanting to be one of us. It might even be from jealousy since she had been the one meant for me once. Unfortunately I have never cared for her in any other way than that of a most beloved sibling.

Since I was not close to Alice I could not read her mind and knew nothing of the vision until Rose told me. I thought I would crumble and die right on the spot. Although not having to breathe, the wind was knocked right out of me, my still heart, aching. Even if I was not now with Bella, the knowledge of her being alive in the world had kept me going. To be sure I rang Charlie to check if this was actually right. The voice that answered said he was at the funeral and I knew. I knew there was only one thing to do. The Volturi would decide for me. All I wanted was to die. For good this time. I couldn't bear the idea of me being "alive" when she was not. Without her I am incomplete.

The Volturi is kind of the royalty of our kind. They are ancient brothers who like to surround themselves with an army of especially talented vampires. They do not approve of our, the Cullens's that is, way of living. We like to call ourselves vegetarians. We don't feed off humans, but just animals.

So to Italy I went. I begged the Volturi to end my misery. To let me join Bella in death. But they would not. I guess Aro found me too much of an asset, too valuable a talent to let go to waste. Even if Aro's own talent doesn't differ so much from mine, he found mine extraordinary. I don't have to be in contact with the person I want to listen to, though Aro when taking hold of somebody's hand instantly knows every thought that has gone through that person's brain. So, naturally, he knew what I would do if I got rejected, but still he did reject my humble request.

When they turned my humble request for death there was no other choice for me but to show myself to the world, knowing that it was punishable by death. That is the only rule we all have to abide. That no human may knew that we exist. At noon I would step out onto the piazza in the middle of the celebration in all my glory and let the masses gaze upon my sparkling body. Nobody was to hinder me.

My body has long been my prison. It was not until I met Bella I truly felt whole again, as if she was the second half of me that made me complete. So much time has passed since Carlisle turned me.

My Bella… As I stood in the shadows, prepared to welcome the warm sun on my body, I missed her more than ever. I could simply not go on without her. I had no longer any desire to walk among the living.

The clock struck noon and I stepped out into the sun. I dropped the cloak and turned my face toward the sun, letting it flow over me. Then she was with me. I knew the Volturi would act fast, but not that fast. I relished the thought of being reunited with Bella again. I let my nostrils fill with her sweet seductive smell. Let my body welcome her warm embrace.

"Edward, don't!" she exclaimed and tried to force me into the shadows again.

"You move fast," I mumbled to the sky and smiled.

"Edward, look at me," my Bella demanded and I readily complied and stared down into her dark eyes.

"Carlisle was right. This is heaven." My voice was but a whisper.

"No, I'm here. I'm alive!"

"You're not real." I smiled.

"Alice was wrong! I'm not dead!" Her words were spoken almost angrily and urgently. Was this true, was she really here? I could hardly believe it. As woken from a deep sleep I began to realize that she was actually there, alive, in my arms.

"Bella?"

"Please, step back, I'm alive, I'm..." I silenced her with a kiss. Joy filled me, a sudden feeling delirious happiness. She was not dead. I was not dead.

"You're here."

"I'm here."

My heart slowly mended itself and I was whole again. I was complete.

I Remember Love ch 43 up!

Yup, you saw correctly! I have finally been able to finish chapter 43 of I Remember Love, my Becoming Jane-fan fic. Hooray, right? :P Only one more chapter to go, though. It's kind of sad...
Sneak peak:
Part 43: In which we’re having a wedding
July 1815
Jane Austen could hardly believe the wedding was tomorrow. She could hardly believe it was her wedding tomorrow. Even more difficult it was to believe it was Mr Tom Lefroy she was marrying. The day that she had dreamed of for so long had finally come. The day when she became Mrs Thomas Langlois Lefroy.
She had been to the seamstress earlier in the week for her final fitting and now she could not stop admiring the dress that hung opposite her bed. The dress was perfect. It was really a dream come true. She had always imagined this kind of dress when she had allowed herself to dream of marriage. But she had never thought she would wear it. The lacing was delicate and the dress was modest enough for an ageing, though blushing, bride.

Something to do on the side...

Some time ago I was approached by a friend at a forum about writing a blog for one of my favourite characters by Jane Austen. I was really happy to be approached and of course said yes to the assignment. So I started a blog for Elizabeth Bennet, thinking it would only be in Swedish, an mainly be something fun for the members of that forum. It's a great forum by the way, if you're into blogdesign, and well, Swedish. :P Anyway, after some posts I just had to start one for Mr Darcy too, and I did. And then I thought, since I prefer writing in English, why not post in both English and Swedish? So, as a result both Lizzie and Darcy now have blogs.

Mind you, it's just recreational, and not very good. I do find it easier to write Darcy's blog, because the novel mainly centers around Lizzie, so I have more freedom there. Anyway, check them out if you are interested... :P

Current Projects part 1 - Northern Sky

I always have a few stories on the go. I thought I'd present them for you, see if anything tickles your fancy... :P

The first one is a story about Lydia, which takes place after her alleged elopement from Brighton. What if she fell and hit her head?

Northern Sky - working title
A Pride & Prejudice- story
By: jakeline

Summary: AU regency fic. What if Lydia got as far as Gretna Green, but falls and wakes up with amnesia. Will this second chance make her more sensible?

Disclaimer: I don’t claim to be Jane Austen or own any of her characters, I merely borrow them as I see fit.

Chapter 1
“Somebody, please, help me!” She was gasping for air. She tried to scream as she kicked her feet and with waving arms tried to remain above water but the weight of the dress and cloak was dragging her down. It was no use. The current soon caught her up in its grip. She could not find her way up again. It was dark and wet. She was tumbling in the water, feeling as if her lounges were bursting, her head pounding. Had she hit it in her fall?
She struggled to keep her mind clear. She had no strength left to keep fighting for her life. Her mind began to drift. Silence was all around her. She sank into darkness. Is this it? she thought as she sank to the bottom of the river. She was on the brim of unconsciousness when she felt her body being tugged upwards again. Strong arms folded tightly around her. There was only one thought left in her head, safe, she felt safe.
-xxx-

“Miss? Can you hear me, miss?” a dark voice asked anxiously. Cautios hands were caressing her face and she tried to open her eyes. “Miss? Can you hear me, miss?” Her eyes fluttered opened and she tried to focus on the direction from where the dark voice came. She stared up into dark blue and very worried eyes set in a handsome face. Suddenly aware of the state she was in she tried to sit up. “Do not move, miss. You might have a concussion. You took a really nasty fall, there.” He pressed her gently to the ground again. She let him, she did not have the strength to stay up. He was wet too. Was this her rescuer? Her hero? His dark hair was plastered down on his head, and he was coat less.
“Where am I?” She coughed as she gasped for air. She tried to remember what had happened. She had fallen into the water, that much was clear, but before that?
She wakes up on the bank of the river, totally deprived of any memory of why she is in Gretna Green or who she is. Her rescuer is a blue eyed northerner, who is very handsome, of course. Sounds interesting?

Chapter 22 of The Thin Line between Love and Hate is up

Yes, I have finished capter 23 of The Thin Line between Love and Hate. You will find hit here. Here's a small teaser:

Chapter 22: All Actions has Consequences
William woke with a feeling that last night didn’t happen. That it was all a dream. Part of it a very beautiful, wonderful dream, the other a nightmare. He knew he had a lot of stuff to deal with this Sunday. The pressure made him want to hide under the covers for the rest of the day, but seeing as he was the head of company he had no choice but to get up. Then there was the whole mess with Caroline, Charles, Jane, Wickham and Georgiana to fix.

He sighed and rolled over on his back, thinking of more pleasurable things. Such as Elizabeth. Who would have thought...? He smiled and closed his eyes and thought of some of the best moments he had had in a very long time. He allowed himself to lie there for a moment, just loosing himself in the memory of yesterday. Her lips against his, the feeling of her hair against his skin, the sound of her voice, her smell...

Introduction to: The Thin Line between Love and Hate

This is the first story I have written about Pride & Prejudice. There will be more, I am sure. It is a modern story with a Shakespearean twist. Basically Darcy and Lizzie were friends in the past, but Darcy thoughtlessly said that Lizzie was not pretty enough to date. Lizzie heard this bit of information and saw red, naturally. Darcy has been living in the US for the passed 12 years, but is now back to run the family business office in Meryton. Lizzie has yet to forgive him.

Sneak peak:
Chapter 1: The Boys are Back in Town
Their fragile friendship began when William Darcy welcomed Elizabeth Bennet to primary school by tugging on her pony tails on first recess. Elizabeth repaid the courtesy by slapping his face. Needless to say they did not see eye to eye on much. Elizabeth and William had been known for their constant quarrelling and hardly a day had gone by without either one of them ending up crying because the other had been too rough on the other.

They had been considered quite good friends throughout their school years and everybody thought that the playful quarrels would turn into love at some point, but that didn’t happen. The main reason was perhaps because William was dating every other girl in school but Elizabeth, or perhaps they really didn’t fancy each other.

But why did not Elizabeth Bennet like William Darcy when it was clear that every other girl in school adored him and would do anything for a date with him? Well, the answer was quite simple. He was constantly bugging her and because he was older and therefore, and at least according to him always right and had to win every single argument. But the reason why she ended their so called friendship was because of something she accidentally heard him say to friend.

“She’s ok I suppose, but not pretty enough to tempt me,” William had said to a friend at his 16th birthday party when asked why he had not dated Elizabeth. Those words were very hurtful to a young lady of 14’s fragile self esteem. It was not that she wanted to date him. She just wanted the pleasure of seeing his face when she turned him down. She poured her drink over him, left and had been avoiding him ever since. Was she forced to speak to him she did it with a high dosage of disdain. She had not even been to his farewell party two years later.

After graduating William Darcy and his family had moved overseas to expand the family business and had been gone and forgotten for ten years at least. One would think that the quarrels of the past are long forgotten and forgiven, but that is seldom the case…

Reviews of the story:
Goldilocks 92: Hi thankyou so much for the story- I love the mixture of much ado about nothing with pride and prejudice- I always though how alike they were and how well they'd do together!
My only critique would be that I feel you need to stick to one style- in some parts your tone is old fashioned in other parts it is very modern.
Otherwise I think its well written, very enjoyable and I absolutely can't wait for the next chapter!
mrdarcylover: i adore this story already and i can't say that about many fanfics. i would love to be your beta, but unfortunatly i am not qualified. i found it interesting how youv'e made them past friends who have grown apart. i think this fic will be a fun one to read.

update soon please!

So far there is 21 full chapter published and Chapter 22 is well on the way. Will probably update later this week.

Introduction to: Love: Lost and Found

This is a story based on Young Americans, but set in the "future", 10 years after graduation. Jake never told Hamilton who she really was. I started writing this story years ago, when JaHammers were found everywhere. It was only a couple of years ago when I found it again and started assembling the pieces, adding and distracting as I went. I have yet to finish it. It's been on hold for over a year *blushes*, but I have recently picked it up again, and will hopefully post the next chapter soon.

Chapter 1: Bittersweet memories
A laugh floated over the bar. A laugh that reminded him so much of someone he used to know. Someone he hadn’t let himself think about for many years. An image of a boy on a motorcycle flickered before his eyes. Jake. They had been best friends through high school. One night had changed it all. Hamilton shook the memory away. It was too painful.

Hamilton Fleming was in London for a photo shoot. For the past five years he had been traveling the world as a freelance photographer. He knew he was good. All the major magazines were screaming for him, but he was not ready to settle down for just one magazine yet. He was content with the life he led at the moment. It was filled with glamour, charity events, cocktail parties and gorgeous girls. He was in the top ten of America’s most wanted bachelors. But Hamilton stayed single. He was still looking for that one. He knew she was out there somewhere.
Read more here.

Thoughts about the story:
kaleisiAddict: ok. this is definately one of the most original and well written YA fanfics. please update soon!! i absolutely loved it!
White-Lily-Blossom: Of course they can't stop thinking about each other even though it's been 10 years... They're soul-mates, they belong together, there's no escaping that, guys!
This is really good. It's so nice that someone is still writing for this fandom (except me, 'new beginnings' and Nickie, of course). And it's really well-done so far (even though there's so little!). A truly intriguing idea. Can't wait for the next chapter!
Yes, so I continued the story and have written 21 complete chapters.

Introduction to: I Remember Love

I Remember Love is a continuation of the movie Becoming Jane. As I had wanted it to end. Of course, messing with history is not easy, but I cried my eyes out when Tom and Jane did not end up together (even though I knew they wouldn't). So, with Tom and Jane talking away in my head and the song I remember love by Sarah Dawn Finer in my ears I started scribbling on a story.

It is, as stated before, a continuation of the story. A kind of alternate universe. What could happen if they happened to find themselves in each other's company again. And with Tom's daughter being an avid admirer of Jane Austen's work and very curious about her father's former relationship with said authoress.

A sneakpeak:
Chapter 1
April 1814
Seeing him that evening had brought back all the feelings and memories she thought she had repressed forever. Now they came bubbling up to the surface again. Once again she began questioning her actions and choices of that dreadful day all those years ago. The look on his face when she left, it had broken her heart. It was for the best, she had thought then. She had to be the sensible one. But had it been the right decision? He was now married, had been so for quite some time, and lived happily in Ireland with a large family and had a fine law career. Life had been good to him. She had been following his progress in secrecy. Not that her own life had turned out bad. She led a small life, valuable but small. She was a rather successful author. Her latest novel had been published the year before and now she found it hard to remain anonymous. There had been a time when she had doubted her writing abilities. It had been a Christmas holiday many years ago, and a certain gentleman from Ireland had entered her home, taking her by storm and changed her life forever

This was the first story I published at fanfiction.net. I had only written for a more private audience before (a Young Americans' fangroup called JaHammers [Jake & Hamilton]). As always you are worried about what people might think and react. I was eagerly awaiting reviews and very disappointed when it took some time. Then I realised the time difference. And a few hours later the first reviews were in:

[...]I am going to be completely honest in the fact that I skimmed your story the first time through because I didn't believe that this was different from all the other Becoming Jane stories I have read in the fact that they are reunited and live happily ever after in some alternate universe (nothing against you!) due to some stroke of luck. Or they just pine over the times they were together. You combine the two, however, making it seem plausible that there is a story that isn't cheesy, or meloncholy, but rather hopefully bittersweet. I commend you. I obviously went back to the beginning to read it word for word and absorb everything the second time through. :)

In this first chapter, I like how you start where the movie left the audience. The continuation is great. It's also rather ironic that Tom's daughter has such a deep curiousity for Miss Austen. The memories definitely rise in up in the starcrossed lovers, but they don't come off as stammering teenagers around each other, rather learned adults, as they should be (in my opinion). I really like how you played the scene out. :)
And more like them came. Now I have written 42 complete chapters and are well on the way of chapter 43, the last one. It feels a bit sad of course, to let a story end. I have actually tried to end it earlier, but my dear readers rallied against it, and I was only too happy to oblige.

One thing I have noticed when I write is that the story kind of writes itself. The characters really live their own little life, and often doesn't behave the way I had planned. Tom and Jane, for example, was so much more obstinate than I had imagined.

I think the major difficulty for me is that English is not my first language, and though I fancy myself pretty good, the grammar is not always as it should be. But I hope my readers can overlook those errors and look to the story itself. :)
